Improved Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (IMTA)
Root-end filling materials (REFMs) are required in each of the 50 million root canals that take place every year in the US and EU. The gold standard for REFMs is Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), developed in 1993. Improved MTA formula (IMTA) has benefits over the older technology.
IMTA provides a shorter setting time of 10 minutes compared to 3 hours with regular MTA, as shown in peer-reviewed studies. This reduces procedure times, giving practitioners more time to see patients, and lets patients eat and drink much sooner after their root canal.
Currently, 60% of MTA patients experience discoloration in their tooth after a procedure. IMTA essentially eliminates tooth discoloration when compared to MTA (by 99.99% in peer-reviewed studies) resulting in whiter teeth and happier patients.
Reduced procedure times.
Fewer failed root canals.
Significant reduction in tooth discoloration.
Convenient for the patient.
